An authentic swimming pond

We can see this in the swimming pond, that has the looks of a pool, due to the solid structure. However, the swimming pond has a lot of benefits that a pool can’t provide: because it doens’t has to be covered, you can enjoy the sights of the water, even during seasonal times when swimming isn’t possible.

On top of that, an unsophisticated experience is bestirred: there is a swamp area that cleanses the pond biologically. Hence, there are no chemical products used!

By using black EPDM-foil, you can see the beautiful reflection of the water. The swimming pond has an authentic, patinated look due to the growing of algae on the bottom and on the sides.

The interaction between old and new

This experience is extended with the use of corten steel. It produces a layer of rust on the outside, but it doesn’t get affected in the core. The copper colors that this brings about, is a beautiful example of the warm minimalism that Linea Hortus carries out.

The modern gangway made of industratiol staco grids composes a contrast with the older, already present elements. In combination with the view on the basilica of Halle, this all forms a coherent whole. Because the living area is situated inbetween the two gardens, the inhabitants can enjoy a green oasis in the city.
