This courtyard is the incentive for the realisation of an entire outdour space. The premise was a contemporary garden, with a sober look that matches the traditional architecture of the farm.

Enjoy the outside view from the inside

Everything is placed in function of relaxation. A terrace with a big dining table to enjoy some food with company, a pool with a shower and lots of space for lounges and sunbeds. You don’t have to stay outside to enjoy this view: like all designs of Linea Hortus, it is important that the panorama is also visible in the inside living area.

In this view we see a lot of evergreen boxwood massifs. To bring some life to the garden during different seasons, there are groups of grasses and verbena, that bloom from summer until the first frost. Dried trees are also a delight to see through the entire year: in spring they have a beautiful, white blossom, during summer you can enjoy the delicious currants and in autumn you can see the leaves effloresce into a wonderful coral.

Sustainable materials

Sustainability is a must in this space. Therefore, there was made use of ipé-wood of sustainable quality to connect the living areas with the lower situated courtyard. The terrace around the pool was made of big tiles (90 x 90 cm) of granite, with an old chiselled finish.

When you look at the trees and bushes, you see how the ambient lighting emphasizes the crown of these plants. On the walls, armatures with up- and downlighting are secured. A portable lamp with a warm and cosy color is the finishing touch for the importance of lighting on this terrace. It creates an intimate sphere, which is completely different from big spotlights often used on terraces.

The esthetic value of the used materials is very important and there has been also given attention to their sustainable heritage. You can see that this courtyard creates a beautiful interaction between inside and outside spaces.
